Change Your Mind features inspirational lyrics by Oscar in reggae style. The chords and melody came from a Gladiators song. Bob played the backup vocals and trumpet sounds on his Roland electric piano.
The original recording of Old Toby was an instrumental. In tribute, we brought back Lou’s haunting, wordless vocal and Buck’s guitar chimes as separate tracks from that 1999 recording, then added our Latin rhythm and marimba sounds.
The CD is packaged in a cardboard sleeve with our picture on the front. The songs list is on the back. It’s a mellow record – might just put you to sleep.
Wow! Got goosebumps on “Old Toby” and that never happens on a first listen! Just purchased a Bose Soundwave and I can’t wait to hear this cd. Thank You so Much!
Thanks, Will. I resurrected Lou and Bucky’s tracks from a 1999 home recording session and played a demo for Oscar. He and Mal instantly heard a latin rhythm connection. Our percussion session was one of those magic moments. When the song ended, we all looked at each other like “Did we really do that?”.
